C-MAP vector data Electronic Charts for the Professional Market.

Chartworx electronic chart systems use C-Map digital charts.

C-Map uses official paper charts or digital information provided by Governmental Hydrographic Offices. Paper charts are digitised and converted to C-Map’s unique digital data format. This also happens with the digital information received from the Hydrographic Offices.

The digitised data is compiled into a seamless database.

The whole process is subject to quality control procedures as laid down in QC procedures for official Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC)

C-Map offers world wide coverage.

The quality of the database is depending on the quality of the information as provided by the Hydrographic Offices. Charts are subject to frequent changes, depending on the area. Charts of the North Sea change almost on a daily basis particularly in shallow areas where frequent surveys (in some areas on a weekly basis!) result in regular change of navigation buoys. Also continuous offshore oil exploration activities do result in frequent chart changes. The quality of databases is therefore much dependent on the frequency of updating of the digital charts.

C-Map keeps its digital chart constantly updated based on the corrections as published by the Hydrographic Offices

C-Map produces the latest version of all available databases monthly. Subscribers to C-MAP data receive a new CD every 4 months and have access to the unique Real Time Updating (RTU) service from

C-MAP which enables round the clock update facilities.

C-MAP vector data Electronic Charts for the Leisure Market.

Chartworx electronic chart systems for the leisure market support all the essential functions, derived from the systems produced for the professional market, particularly those related to safe navigation. Chartworx well known TheMAP 10 and TheMAP

Yachting electronic chart systems have proved to be the most competitive offer in the light marine market for vector data systems.

Chartworx electronic chart systems are unique both in price and performance. All Chartworx electronic chart systems support C-MAP digital cartography, certified by Det Norske Veritas (DNV) in accordance with the specifications as laid down in ISO 19379 (International Standard for content, quality, updating and testing of Electronic Chart System (ECS) database). However Chartworx systems also offer the possibility to support ARCS, Seafarer and BSB (Maptech) raster charts.

Max Pro  is an advanced electronic charting standard dedicated for optimal use on advanced electronic chart systems and PC based navigation systems like Chartworx electronic chart systems for the leisure market.

Max Pro is supplemented by various value added data, as well as innovative features

and functions, e.g. the Real Time Update service (RTU) that enables the user to update his database via Internet or e-mail 24 hours a day, which until recently have been available only for large, expensive commercial navigation systems.

Max Pro differs from any other similar product developed for the leisure market because it incorporates with the chart data a Port & Marina database including aerial photos of ports, marinas and other conspicuous features to instructional diagrams of bridges and locks.

A global tidal database providing both tidal streams and heights and a global weather

service providing a 10-day world-wide weather forecast.

All Chartworx systems may be delivered with the following data:

C-MAP by Jeppesen CM 93/3 Professional, C-MAP by Jeppesen MAX Pro, C-MAP-ENC (Official Electronic Navigational Charts in SENC format), BSB (raster charts produced by Maptech) and Proudman tidal data
